Project Coordinator and Community Liaison
Position Overview
Pomegranate Center, a community development non-profit organization facilitating the creation of meaningful community-crafted gathering places in communities throughout the Northwest region, is searching for a Project Coordinator and Community Liaison. The selected candidate will support the Pomegranate Center team members in the development and maintenance of community-based planning and building projects to ensure timely project completion and community satisfaction. This position will serve as the primary liaison between community partners and the Pomegranate Center team and will be responsible for stewarding community partners through a project’s duration. S/he will be a people-person with highly developed organization and communication skills.
Specific functions:
- Provide project organization, coordination, communication and maintenance for several simultaneous projects.
- Serve as primary liaison between community partners and Pomegranate Center team members through all stages of a project.
- Be proactive in identifying and responding to community partner requests and needs.
- Prepare, organize, support and participate in Pomegranate Center community workshops and meetings.
- Provide comprehensive support to all Pomegranate Center projects as directed by project leads.
- Coordinate with executive director and organization staff to ensure all staff members are up to date on the status of projects and deliverables
- Assist and train community partners in recruiting and working with volunteers.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- 2-5 years experience in similar work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Organizational ability with strong self-starting skills
- Ability to assess priorities and work well under pressure; excellent time management and problem solving skills
- Experience working with community volunteers
- Ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds
- Interest in community development and experience in nonprofit sector preferred
- Computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Personal transportation a plus
- Some evening and weekend hours may be required
