Make your mark on the Arboretum!

You are invited to join Pomegranate Center and The Arboretum Foundation for a series of community workshops at Washington Park Arboretum’s long-awaited Pacific Connections Garden.

What is the Pacific Connections Garden?

The Pacific Connections Garden at the Washington Park Arboretum is a multi-phase project scheduled to break ground in October 2007. The garden will incorporate indigenous plants from the Pacific Northwest, Chile, Eastern China, New Zealand and Australia to help forge bonds between these separate yet connected regions. Several key elements of this project will be underway this fall including a central meadow, a botanical interpretation shelter, five entry gardens featuring plants from the five regions, and a partial trail that will eventually connect to the planned Cascadia Garden.

Get involved!

Come to one, or all, of the community workshops to help sand, carve and stain cedar columns that will hold up the shelter and mark the entrance to the Pacific Connections Garden. No experience necessary! Children over 15 are welcome to attend. Workshops are hosted by Pomegranate Center and The Arboretum Foundation.
