Making a park as a neighborhood focal point Making a park as a neighborhood focal point

The one-acre Ashland Circle park sits in the center of the first neighborhood in Issaquah Highlands, a new urban village that will house over 7,000 people once it is complete in 2010. The park includes an amphitheater for public gatherings, a children’s playground, a stream channeled through the park and a grass-covered activity field. The park area is encircled by street furniture—benches, columns and carved light posts—largely created from river rocks and cedar trees recovered from the site.
