Gathering Places Project

Every neighborhood deserves gathering places where people can meet, linger, chat and celebrate.
And that’s why Pomegranate Center and Tully’s are partnering on the Gathering Places Project, to ignite a movement to create gathering places in communities across the country.
Request for Proposal
We are embarking on an RFP (Request for Proposal) to find communities in greatest need of public gathering space. Every place will be hand-crafted with local energy and materials, art-filled and unique.
These gathering places can be outdoors:
- gardens
- natural or urban parks
- amphitheaters
- shelters or street improvement
Or they can be indoor spaces:
- community centers
- libraries
- or any other spaces where all kinds of people gather
The RFP process starts this year in the greater Seattle area
The selected communities will receive a service grant from Pomegranate Center to plan, design and build neighborhood gathering places – places that bring everyone together and strengthen our communities.
Selected communities will receive training, community engagement expertise, designs and building materials and management over the course of 2011.
Proposals are due no later than 5pm, April 15, 2011
To apply for this service and materials grant, review the RFP and complete the application.
