Pacific Rim Park

Linking nations through artistic collaboration

Eight American, two Mexican, seven Russian and seven Chinese architecture students designed and created the Pacific Rim Park in Yantai, China—the third in a string of pearls parks in cities around the Pacific Rim—under the direction of lead designers James Hubbell and Milenko Matanovic. The students worked alongside masters of the ancient art of carving marble and granite-helping to create the park’s centerpieces. The completed project is a remarkable example of cross-cultural artistic collaboration.
