Celebrating friendship around the Pacific Rim

This was the first in an envisioned series of parks in sister-cities around the Pacific Rim symbolizing their friendship and shared pacific culture. Under the direction of James Hubbell and Milenko Matanovic, it was created in 21 days by 20 students from Russia, Mexico and the U.S. The Pearl Amphitheater celebrates the Pacific Rim as a string of pearls, with a new pearl to be added each time the sister-cities encircling the rim come together in friendship. This amphitheater is now a popular site for weddings, poetry readings, concerts and parties.
